
For the last little while, I've been into this type of picture.  A lot of people think a "good" portrait dictates you can see the person's face.  However, phototgraphers give little thought to what happens to the moments in between "decisive".  I think the world has enough of the same photos and "good" is someone else's definition when it comes to photographs.  Like Araki, I feel photographs often have the purpose of a visual diary.  This moment happened in my life, even if I pushed the shutter at the "wrong" time.  It feels good to be wrong sometimes.
