Dear Diary,
Tilt was nice enough to invite me to the Vegoose music festival this weekend. Tilt was also responsible for obtaining a photo pass for me.
Here's how it worked. I got to be in the "press pit" for three songs. I got to be right next to the stage taking photos. Band Of Horses played first. The guy next to me had a name badge that said "Getty Images" and two huge digital cameras. I had a Polaroid Camera. When I unfolded my Polaroid to take a picture, he just rolled his eyes at me. It was a highlight for sure.
I'm not a real photographer. Don't call me that. Again, real photographers use digital cameras and have photos published for the masses weekly. I like to take pictures. They don't. It's their job. To hell with exposure and focus. Let's have fun.
Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins rule by the way. Their show was one of the highlights of the festival. Also, to the guys from the Independent who thought Built To Spill sucked..."Those who can't do...review." That's all I have to say about that...they played "You Were Wrong", okay? That's all I needed.

Boring Update.
Dear Diary,
Kirk seems to think that the most epic picture I ever took was of a dead bird. This isn't that picture but it's a dead bird nonetheless.
Lucie has a problem with chewing through people's underwear.
Katie that works with Kami wanted a birthday picture of Karlee. It was Karlee's birthday like three weeks ago. I really suck at this updating shit.

Tree down!
Dear Diary,
This blog starts way back a week and a half ago in Salt Lake City.
Lee and Kami's yard fell victim to a microburst or something and the trees were tipped over.
Karlee's friend got married and Karlee was in the line. I take good wedding pictures don't I?
We also saw Steff! She watched Benchwarmers with us and I went to the wedding with her.
Then, a couple of days ago, EZIZ and I went bowling. They played Jimmy Eat World and IZ complained about the music ruining his game. He scored pretty well in spite of the situaish.
So, I always wanted to be one of those hardcore street photogs who took photos of homeless people but, I'm a little timid about the whole thing. I figured out the perfect line to approach people and tested it on some sad kids. I just walked up and said, "Excuse me, I'm blogging here," took the picture and walked off.
"Guess what? Now this is happening."
I want to get a tattoo of this because I think it would make me look a little more thuggish.

A few weeks...a few rolls of film...etc.
Dear Diary,
If anyone who reads this actually skateboards....I just want you to know that John Cardiel, a pro skateboarder who was hit by a bus in Australia three years ago and told he would never walk again dropped in and carved around the Autumn bowl in NYC yesterday.
We went to Mesquite a few weeks ago.
This pretty much sums up what we did in Mesquite:
Speaking of injured skate dudes....I hung out with the Changsta....
...and Carl's dog Deville.
Then... a week later in Salt Lake...I went for a ride with Lucie.
and hung out with Moibs.
Thirty-something year old dudes try and add Lucie and Moibs on myspace all the time. Attention...they're dogs not Lesbians!!!
Then I went to Fiesta Days in Kamas for the 24th. They had this huge Demolition Derby. It was pretty awesome....I haven't really watched something like this since Wrestlemania III in second grade.
And they had fireworks.
I saw this in Salt Lake. It's the Willy Wash. It's a good place to wash your Willy apparently. It reminds me of the Cowboy Lube Barn from Tall J's blog.

Will Smith.
Dear Diary,
I'm a weirdo and stil shoot with a film camera. Therefore, please excuse the constant delay in entries. The fourth of July was five days ago.
Fireworks and Craze in SLC.
I saw a photo like this that Leo Romero took in the photo issue of Slap...now I have my own (his was Black and White so I'm at least 47.3% original on this)
Tilt let us swim in his pool!
Jason Dill may very well have the best fashion sense in skateboarding but Sean has the best look in Southern Utah right now. How New York is this guy?!?!?!
At the street fair we saw this car that had a PBR shift knobber.
And Finally...two random photos of balloons in trees! Hey, if I never finished a roll of film, you wouldn't be able to look at this would you?

Why I Hate Artichokes
Dear Diary,
I went to see Blackheart Procession in Salt Lake at Urban Loiunge this weekend with Karlee. Hey kids, take note: never try to load film in a Leica when you're wasted. Otherwise, you get a whole roll of blank film. Here's two photos of the show from before I had to change film.
Lee bought me a glass of Provo Girl Ale. I was a little too faded to be shooting at 1/4 of a second.
Will Sartain opened! He's like the new Paul Westerberg.
On the way there we stopped at Burger King in Nephi. We waited at the drive thru for 20 minutes. We waited and waited. There was this minivan that we thought must have had a huge order because it wasn't moving at all. The window finally opened and gave them two drinks. TWO DRINKS! It took twenty minutes for two drinks. While we were waiting we saw these seagulls.
A random photo of Karlee from about two weeks ago:
Last night we went to Albertson's to buy groceries. We bought artichoke and the little shit cut my thumb. It was hard to get my credit card out with all the blood gushing from my thumb. Then, when I went to put the bag in my car, the artichoke stabbed me again throught the bag. Assholichoke.
